As a child, I always saw Teacher’s Day as just another celebration—no classes, fun, and pretending to be a teacher myself.
Then came school and college days. It feels like just yesterday, but looking back, I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned from my teachers, even though I never properly thanked them.
When I stepped into the professional world, I was once again surprised by the endless waves of learning. My seniors, peers, and team members turned out to be some of the best mentors I could ever ask for.
I’m not in competition with anyone, but the lessons I’ve absorbed in my career have shaped me into who I am today.
I remember the constant encouragement from people around me, always pushing me to do better. Some teachings I embraced wholeheartedly, but there were others I resisted. Ironically, it was the lessons I resisted most that ended up helping me the most. At the time, I thought those people were trying to grill or challenge me, but in hindsight, their tough love made me stronger, more confident, and a better professional.
How can I not mention my friends? (Oh God, save me from them 🤪). Blunt, straightforward, and dry, but with an unshakable love for me.
Remember this: no one can grill or tease you better than your friends because they know you inside and out. Share your successes with them, and they’ll respond with a sarcastic “Tu rahne de, pata hai sab tere baare mein” (Leave it, we know everything about you). They’ll make sure you stay grounded. And the moment they see you floating on cloud nine, they’ll show up as bright sunlight or a thunderstorm to burst your bubble.
But when you’re at your lowest, drowning, they’re the only ones who can lift you up. They know exactly how to inject you with a jolt of energy that may make you cry or bleed, but it guarantees your recovery. Flying with them is a blessing, and running towards them after a victory—smelling of sweat and success—is the real trophy. They sense your struggles before you even say a word 😋🤪😝.
As the saying goes, “United we stand, divided we fall.” This mantra is at the heart of my family. Not mentioning my family today would be like ignoring the existence of God, the sun, or the rain.
I bounce back every time because they need me. They are the resurrection force within me. Their presence gives me life, and seeing them fuels my strength to wear my warrior’s armor. They sharpen my sword, making me an undefeated fighter. I am them, and they are me.
And then there are those who say I’ve helped them in some way, but little do they know how much they’ve done for me.
I’m reborn time and again because someone has always listened before I even spoke. I’ve been blessed with father figures who understand that life’s bitterness is best vomited out, and drinking isn’t bad, but a way to cleanse the soul.
The flawless love I’ve felt in life has even made God raise His eyebrows. The transparency, trust, and openness I’ve experienced with certain people—it feels otherworldly, almost divine.
These are just a few blessings I’ve received from my teachers and mentors.
Thank you for always being there for me. ♥️
Happy Teacher’s Day!
